Our Mission

Reel Q produces events and film screenings throughout the year, not only during our annual festival. It is our mission to increase the availability and accessibility of queer film in Pittsburgh and its surrounding region, highlighting the diverse experiences of our worldwide community. Despite the fact that neither can communicate well in the other’s language they make an entertaining, mismatched duo in a movie with a big heart.

Dykes, Camera, Action is a crash-course in lesbian film, covering everything from the first tragic glimpses of lesbians on film, through groundbreaking experimental work, to the New Queer Cinema of the 1990s and beyond. While the film documents important moments in film and LGBTQIA+ history it also makes for good entertainment.
