About the Film

Written and directed by local Pittsburgh filmmaker Angela Washko, Workhorse Queen follows 1960’s inspired housewife Mrs. Kasha Davis (Ed Popil) who broke out of Rochester, NY and onto the RuPaul’s Drag race stage at 44. An early elimination has Mrs. Davis struggling to navigate the highs and lows of reality TV stardom. In addition to Ed, the film focuses on the glowing drag scene in Rochester. Featuring Drag Race alums Darienne Lake, Pandora Boxx, and Tatianna in addition to several queens who should become household names.

Screening begins at 7:00 pm. Followed by an in-person Q&A with Mrs Kasha Davis, Steven Levins (aka Mr. Davis), and the director Angela Washko (local), moderated by John Musser (Veronica Bleaus). Followed by a Warhol lobby party with DJ Jellyfish and performers Akasha L. Van Cartier, Anna Azizzy, Dixie Surewood and Mrs. Kasha Davis. (cash bar, masks required)
