Reel Stories

Reel Stories is a free quarterly screening series dedicated to showcasing international queer cinema, with a focus on marginalized perspectives. All screenings are in partnership with City of Asylum.

City of Asylum builds a more just community by protecting and celebrating creative freedom of expression. They provide sanctuary to literary writers exiled under threat of persecution, so that they can continue to write and are not silenced.

Every event is free and open to the public.

Next Screening: We Are Faheem And Karun

No Pride in Genocide Banner 2025

Join us on December 8th for a screening of We Are Faheem And Karun. An unlikely connection between two young men divided by duty and identity. Faheem (Mir Tawseef), a Kashmiri college student, meets Karun (Akash Menon), an Indian border guard, at a checkpoint on his journey home to the remote village of Gurez. What begins as a simple exchange — an apple passed through a gate — slowly becomes a quiet act of longing and recognition.
