What is Reel Stories?

Reel Stories was created to screen documentaries and films with themes around social change in an intimate setting at City of Asylum’s Alphabet City. All screenings are free public screenings that focus on issues important to our community, such as: youth, gender identity, adoption, international struggles and accomplishments, and hate crimes against our community.

All screenings are free and take place at City of Asylum @ Alphabet City (40 W North Avenue)

Next Event: A Moment in the Reeds

Join us at City of Asylum on Wednesday, May 29th for a screening of A Moment in the Reeds. This Finnish film tells the story of a chance encounter between two young men from different worlds – a student returning from university in Paris and a Syrian refugee hired to help at the family’s lakeside cabin.
