What is Reel Stories?

Reel Stories was created to screen documentaries and films with themes around social change in an intimate setting at City of Asylum’s Alphabet City. All screenings are free public screenings that focus on issues important to our community, such as: youth, gender identity, adoption, international struggles and accomplishments, and hate crimes against our community.

All screenings are free and take place at City of Asylum @ Alphabet City (40 W North Avenue)

Next Event: I’m Moshanty, Do You Love Me?

Join us at City of Asylum on Wednesday, July 31st for a screening of I’m Moshanty, Do You Love Me?. Filmed over a weekend in October of 2017 and including her last live performances, I’m Moshanty, Do You Love Me? is an introduction and a musical tribute to the career of the transgender activist with a mother’s heart, teeth of gold and a voice like a coronet.
